Privacy & analytics.
This website uses Plausible to understand visits and interest in the work, without analytics cookies or advertising tracking.
Your choice
Plausible runs by default on davidapex.com without an analytics approval popup. You can turn it off at any time using “Analytics settings” in the footer and selecting “Opt out.” Earlier “Decline” choices from our previous analytics setup remain respected. We also keep analytics off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
Your preference applies to this browser until you change it or clear its storage. Using another browser or device does not carry the preference across. Opting out stops future collection after the page reloads; it does not erase statistics already collected. The portfolio and contact links work with analytics off.
What we measure
Plausible reports page views, visits, referring websites, approximate location, browser and device categories, and page engagement. We also count email-link clicks, phone-link clicks, deliberate video plays, viewing at least half a video, and playback reaching the end. Background video loops do not count. “Video completed” means playback reached the end; it does not prove every second was watched. A contact click does not mean an email was sent, a call connected, or a project was booked.
Our events do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, message contents or contact-link destinations. Page addresses sent by our code exclude query strings and fragments; referrers are limited to the referring website’s origin. We do not use analytics for advertising, remarketing, session recordings, or identifying individual prospective clients.
How Plausible handles data
Plausible processes the IP address and browser information accompanying a request to estimate unique visitors and approximate location. It says it does not store raw IP addresses or full user-agent strings. It uses a site-specific visitor identifier derived with a salt that is rotated and deleted daily, rather than a persistent cookie or cross-site identifier. It stores event and session records to produce the statistical reports.
Plausible processes analytics data on European infrastructure. The selected Starter offering provides three years of data retention. See Plausible’s data policy for the provider’s processing details. Visitor numbers are estimates, not a list of people or IP addresses.
Browser storage and previous analytics
Plausible’s tracker does not use analytics cookies. This website uses local browser storage only to remember your analytics preference under david-apex-plausible-preference-v1. We also read the earlier david-apex-analytics-consent-v1 preference to preserve refusals. If storage is unavailable, analytics stays off unless you allow it for the current page.
Google Analytics is no longer loaded by the current website. We remove its accessible _ga and _ga_NQBYSZ6K1Y cookies on visits. Statistics previously collected with permission remain in the existing Google Analytics account under its retention settings; the switch does not import that history into Plausible.
Website delivery and contact information
Separately from analytics, hosting and delivery providers receive technical information needed to serve and secure the website, including your IP address and requested resources. Opting out of analytics does not prevent this necessary network processing. External sites linked from this portfolio have their own privacy practices.
This portfolio is operated by David Apex, professionally credited as David Apkhaidze, based in New York. If you email or call, the information you provide is used to respond and discuss your project. This website does not send that correspondence to Plausible.
